What is the best way to search for a job?

I'm currently having trouble finding a job and its like months from now since I lost my job. At the moment I'm browsing job in the internet and looking at the classified ads section of the newspaper. Im just searching for normal paid jobs, Blue collar jobs mostly. So now I don't know if this strategy of searching jobs is effective. If you got better job hunting strategy or any suggestions please put it below. Any I'mcurrently residing in England , UK.

This usually worked for me... Use google maps to look and search for businesses around your area and if you find any that interest you call that business and ask for the manager specifically because hes the man you should talk to if your looking for a job. You should definitely give this method a try
