Why are Democrats predicting the total collapse of the government if the debt ceiling is not raised?

This is being done despite few Republicans having mentioned support for not raising the debt ceiling. Has anyone considered that they could cut spending instead of raising the debt ceiling? BlueMax: I don't know why they raised it then either. Mostly because both parties lack any sense of fiscal responsibility. However, just because something bad was done before doesn't mean that it should keep being repeated.

This is the elite agenda, and both parties are complicit. Soon everyone will see that this really is a huge step towards the formation of tyrannical rule by a global government. Wake up America. Break the economic stability, cause economic Armageddon and what do you have?
