How would feel if this was your childs school Illegal immigrant fugitive worked as school janitor?

Maury County Sheriff’s Department investigators believe a suspected illegal immigrant convicted of drug possession was working as a janitor at E.A. Cox Middle School. Olga Bueno-Romero, 25, a mother of two, was arrested this past week at a pediatric clinic in Columbia and charged with violating the terms of her probation. Lt. Mike Diaz, the department’s Spanish-speaking officer, said Bueno-Romero told him in an interview Wednesday that she was working as a custodian for GCA Services Group, a firm the school system had contracted with for cleaning. Bueno-Romero was being held at the Maury County Jail for allegedly violating the terms of her probation for felony drug charges in Texas. Diaz said the matter has now been turned over to the district attorney and the U.S. Department of Labor. In May, the Maury County School Board voted to outsource school cleaning. The vote resulted in 69 custodians — many of whom had worked for the school system for decades — losing their jobs with the district. GCA officials could not be reached for comment after business hours Wednesday. At the time of the vote, Bernie Decker, human resources director of GCA’s K-12 division, said the company conducts extensive background checks that meet — if not exceed — those used by public school districts. Investigators said Bueno-Romero was living at Perdue Trailer Park near Wal-Mart. The woman’s two children have been turned over to relatives, they said. http://www.c-dh.net/articles/2011/01/12/top_stories/001janitor.txt

That is why it is better that schools don't outsource their cleaning staff. They lose the ability to check out their staff.

I would feel very concerned about the competancy of the school board and GCA. I would think about replacing both GCA and the school board members.

They outsourced cleaning, firing many long time staff..which is the worst thing in this article. Awful, just awful. No one has job security anymore. The illegal alien was not a danger to anyone including children, so I don't think that is even relevant.
