Would you go back to this dentist even though he was rude?
I have a badly infected failed root canal-my mom reccomended i see him since she went to him. The receptionist made a big scene on the phone with my dental plan acting like I'm scamming her, then she smirks at me and says I'm not in the system. i heard her telling the insurance company "im looking athis womans card and its says effective date is today, sounds shady" All the other patients were listening, she then proceeded to demean me in front of everyone..... I waited to see the doctor because i was en emergency, he seemed professional and explained everything then he made a comment to me that his wife wears leopard panties while he was examing me..Then he touched my hand lifts it up and looks at my watch to see the brand name, he then touches my fingers and says "whats wrong with your nails, do you bite them"? Like he was disgusted.. He told me i need new root canal treatment, when i asked how much it was with my plan? He rolled his eyes and made a face and calls in the lady who spoke rudely to me and says "she knows everything i dont deal with that" Then the dental assistant comes in and says I dont have a discount plan its just a fee list which is not true--she then says i should as for the previous dentist who did the bad root canal for some refund to help me pay.. She said in a pathetic way.. She said they would only charge me $900 for everything which is pretty cheap for this...I agreed because i was in pain.. I was then told upfront by the rude lady I would have to wait 2 weeks for the appointment, then she tells me i can call monday to see if anyone cancelled and i can "run" there.. I feel dehumanized and disrespected, the thing is I do have a discount dental plan which i have used before and didnt like how they put me down for it... If i fo somewhere else I would probably have to pay $600 more but maybe its worth it? Im kinda afraid he may do a bad job because of what happened. I could pay the double -i would just need to cut down a but on my expenses

Absoultly not, just because they told you it would be $900 , it could come out to more when you are done, like if he runs into problems with you... More

He was incredibly rude. I had one do that to me(well, not exactly the same, but you get the drift.) I not only complained but told his receptionist that he would get no business from me and that I would inform others of his attitude. The guy I saw was also rude because I had a discount plan and treated me like I was... They were both rude. I say he was not professional otherwise he would be patient with your questions about the payment. And the woman had no rights to talk to you like that. I wouldn't trust them with my root canal. I'd overpay another dentist who would treat me with respect and would do a good job... More

I never go back to anyone who is rude and a dentist is #1 on that list. He/She has the power to inflict further pain. I feel that my money is just as green as anyone else and I just refused to be treated badly. That is my rule for me. Please do what you think is best.

The dentist does not know about plans, what you have to pay etc. Its not his/her job. its the job of the receptionist. A dentist fixes teeth, not process accounts.
