where do i register my car if the registration expired over a year ago?

i live in Houston, TX now and i have a car that went unused for the past few years. i now want to use it but have no idea where i had it registered last (due to moving a lot after college and with the new job). I'm sure they won't let me do it online since it's been so long (tell me if i'm wrong) so where exactly can i go to register the car? i vaguely remember getting cars registered at city annexes or the dmv but not sure. any advice helps, thanks thanks

Register your car in the county you live in. In our county you go to the County Tax Assessor and Collector . Just call Harris County and get connected to the correct office . You will be asked to sign an affidavit that you swear the car was not driven during the time it was not registered.

Try going to your local DMV or RMV To find out where the car was last registered or if you have the title you might just be able to register it right then and there

Any of the county court houses that have a vehicle registration window in them. Take the title with, tell them it's been parked. You will probably have a penalty to pay, but they can tell you exactly what you need to do.

Do you have a registration for the car / (TITLE) If so go to the local court house in which county you reside and they will tell you what needs to be done.
