How much can a archaeologist get paid with a masters and phd?

Also what kind of jobs And how much can a university professor make and can he go on an excavation

An archaeologist with a master's degree can start working for the government as an archaeologist for around $40k at least. If I recall correctly the average salary for a PHD was about 65k a year (much less for bachelors and masters). Its not great money but most people don't major in it for the money... More

Not a lot(but good enough to live on comfortably). Most archeologists work because they enjoy it, not because of the pay.
