Why can my husband not find a job after a year of being laid off?

He has been laid off for more than a year and can not seem to find work. His field is inspecting of constructon materials. He is looking for a superintendent job or construction foreman, or inspection. Other fields are anything in MMA. We live in houston tx. IS ANY ONE HIRING????

Welcome to the world of unemployment. It's not just him. He may need to start applying to jobs that are not in his field or are slightly out of his field. I hope he finds something soon. 1 year is a long time... good luck to you both.

Unfortunately he may need to take a step (or two, or three) down in his field to find a job. There are a ton of unemployed construction workers and superintendents out there. He needs to consider other skills he has and how he could apply them in another field. I have years of documentation experience in biotech and... More
