Bush Pilots, I need some help & Advice please.?

Is this feasible? I'm 53 years old, I have 35 years as a commercial / fine art photographer where I worked & lived in NYC, Los Angeles and Paris. My industry has been dying for the last 12 years and pretty much dead now due to stock photography catalogs and the ease of digital photography. Every single one of my friends / contemporaries in the business that made great money in the 80's and 90's are out of business or in serious debt with no recovery in site. I'm tired of living in the big cities as I come from the county and really miss the outdoors and fishing. It's time for a career change for me. To the point. In 1977 I took Private lessons soloed with only 4 hrs flight time & had my license with 42 hrs flight time. By 1980 I had 100 hrs and had been checked out in about 8 different types from the Citabria tail dragger that I learned in to a Grumman Tiger. I haven't been current since then, Life got in the way. I have been a aviation enthusiast doing everything from flight sims, building and flying RC jets, air shows, history of flight and have a deep knowledge of aviation. I have flown with other pilots and performed Take offs, Landings and cross country flights for about 10 hrs over the last 30 years. I have no doubt I could get in a plane today and fly it safely. Of course I would need some refresher courses and study up on ground school and changes in the industry. That's my background. Currently I live in St Louis Mo and am taking care of my ailing elderly mother. Here is what I would like to do. Please tell me if I'm wasting my time or crazy since I have no idea what the industry is like or how to go about it. I would like to go back to school, get my Instrument, Commercial, Instructor, Multi engine and Float ratings, Mountain and Bush flying training and any thing else I may need. For this I'm not sure if should buy something economical like a used super cub, citabria / other or just rent for training and building hrs? My goal & dream is to get this done as soon as possible to get to work. One day I can own my own Beaver or other plane and fly cargo or sports people into the bush. I'm flexible, i can go just about anyplace to work, Canada, Alaska, maybe Australia…etc. I will need to try and do much of my training in St. louis due to my responsibilities here right now. I'm single, no kids, not a lot of cash left but some. Fortunately I made good money but due to trying to survive in a dying industry used most of it. I will depend on getting some types of loans and earning income asap after school requirements are completed. I have excellent credit. I know I have a hugh disadvantage that I will not have a ton of hrs when I get out of school. I'm also an old man and will probably be 55 - 56 when I would have the necessary training completed on the fast track. I will need to make a living asap to pay off loans & possibly buy a workable plane. I doubt anyone would hire me to fly their planes due to age and low hrs but might hire me as a freelancer to move cargo or fly in fisherman and recreational sportsman, joy rides and teaching. I'm not trying to get into a commercial or corporate flying situation as I know I'm to old. Any information, Advice, links, contacts, suggestions would be most appreciated! I really need some direction here.

What you want may be possible, but not probable. You are getting a tad long in the tooth for such an adventuresome plan. Any way, good luck. I wish you well.
