What job can I get with an International Relations degree?

I'm 17 next week and our sixth form are encouraging us to think about what degree we would like to apply to university for. I've wanted to go into medicine since . . well, almost forever (barring a small period of time when I wanted to be a mole when I was four :p ) but recently I've been completely put off the idea as I've been and out of hospital since I was eight for bone conditions (this isn't the main reason, but it certainly contributes) and also the state in which the NHS is in is hardly inspiring. I realise I could go into private practice but this isn't available straight out of university - you need at least 5-10 years of NHS work first. And to be perfectly honest, I'm really not up for spending any more time in/around the NHS (they've treated me very poorly sometimes. The only NHS hospitals that I've found accomodating were the ones specifically designed for minors). And I'm not even going to go into the state in which my grandmother has been left by staff on the geriatrics wards. This is just not a system I want to be associated with anymore, it's completely corrupt;more than 70% of the budget is spent on treating obese patients who are not in immediate need of treatment whilst others are left suffering. Also, I don't know if any of you saw Heston's Mission Impossible on channel 4 the other night, but I find it disgusting that in a children's hospital, they are fed sub-standard food whilst visitors etc. are not. Sorry, I'm about to get off my soapbox, but what's in this link to a newspaper really disgusts me (not literally gruesome, just the situation) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1358368/Jamie-Oliver-joins-campaign-ban-junk-food-hospitals.html But anyway, sorry for my little rant :/ Basically I'm very interested in what's happening in the world and how people sort it out, who those people are and international politics and relations in general. So I did a bit of research and found an international relations degree exists and I was hoping someone could tell me what jobs/careers I could get into after university should I decide on this course. I'm taking Biology, Chemistry, Geology and Philosophy + Ethics as A-levels, with the intention of dropping Geology at the end of this year. Thanks for not falling asleep at your computer screens!

too bad about the plan to drop geology. with it you could be an international negotiator for an oil company and negotiate contracts between international companies and governments.
