What's the difference between a peoplesoft tester and a business analyst?

What does a peoplesoft tester do in comparison with a business analyst or a reporter? Right now I am being trained to become a developer or a reporter. I really want to be a developer or a reporter. But my trainer insists that I am only good to be a tester and he keeps repeating it again and again eventhough I do all the programming as good as the next time , if anything, faster. If he sends me as a "tester" what am I losing in terms of -looking into the future- ?

PeopleSoft is a good application to know because it's widely used. You can learn PeopleSoft and then move up from there. A business analyst can also work on PeopleSoft but may also know other applications. I would take the PeopleSoft tester job and learn all I could. You will not be sorry.
