Is a 2004 Mustang GT a good base car to upgrade?

Im looking at getting a 2004 Mustang GT with 80k original miles for $7,000, its charcoal with the billet rims, already has an xpipe catback, but other than that pretty much stock. Would this be a good car to modify and will it last. Its previous owner is a girl and she has had it for a looks very clean inside and out.
