how exactly does an associate degree nurse graduate have more experience than a BSN?

I hear a lot of people on here suggesting to others that they should start out as an associate degree in nursing because employers like to hire "those with experince) how exactly does an ADN graduate have more experience than an BSN. as far as i know, both programs are the same.

Some ASN programs really do contain more clinical exposure than BSN programs. That's not always the case, but there is a strong focus on theory, management, and research components within most BSN programs. Often at the expense of an actual clinical course. Juli is correct. When I was in an associates RN program, we spent 4 days a week in the hospital with 1 day lecture and a wrap up lecture after the clinical. My friends in their BSRN programs were in the hospital for 2 half days on some rotations. But they had a lot of lectures, LOL.
