I got into a car accident over 2 years ago. I was rear-ended by a semi truck. How much do i ask for.?

I had a sprain back and neck, a couple fracured ribs and a busted toe. I was at the time 19, I am now 22 and still waiting for them to settle. My hospital bills are around 45-50k and I've been struggling with getting a car. I had lost my job because I was out of work for 2 weeks. I had only went to the doctors for my injuries for a month because I did not have any insurance and still don't. This car accident has costed me my job, which I have proof of lost wages, has stopped me from going to college because I do not have a car to get to the school I wanted to go to. My ribs still hurt from time to time and the doctor said it would take awhile for the pain to go away. Also, I had recently sprain my back again from my last job I did. I would like to know how much I should ask from his insurance company? Also, he worked for 84 lumber and my lawyer had told me that a big company does give out more money.
