Majoring in Japanese; is it useful to minor in Earth&Atmospheric Science (concentrating on plate tectonics)?

I was thinking that if I end up getting a job in Japan, having some science experience such as this would be a good idea. I'm doing a double major in Japanese Language and Asian Studies, and also minoring in Sociology. I was thinking of picking up a minor in Linguistics also, but then I realized that I am very interested in earthquakes, plate tectonics, and maybe weather also. Would it be beneficial of me to minor in E&S Science? I would probably take the following classes: Survey of Atmospheric Science (required) Lab in Atmospheric Science (required) Earthquakes & Volcanoes Plate Tectonics Earth Materials I I'm just looking for a second opinion. I don't want to start something if it's not going to get me anywhere. Thanks!

If you want to learn something useful and potentially able to lead you to career in the field of E&S, consider civil/environment engineering. Majoring in CE and minoring in Japanese will far more easily facilitate your ending up in Japan than the other way around.
