Small game air rifle? Shotgun?

Hi, Well I am looking to get hunting the smaller things in life on the downtime between my boar hunts and I am looking to hunt to eat not for fur or something, so rabbit, dove, and squirrel are my main targets. I was looking at the Gamo Shadow Express in .22. I figure at medium to close ranges with the shot shell I could take dove and squirrel and at the same ranges with the pellet I could take rabbits. I wanted to know every ones opinion because there have been some good and some bad reviews and or takes on it. Regardless my range is going to be under or ar 25 yards and nothing larger than a rabbit. Also I am confused on the FPS on it sportsmanguide says 1,000 with shot shells pyramid air sayd this gamo says that cabelas says this. Help?

I would say buy. If reloaded,The shotshells are for birds at 10 yds and under. The pellets will give you longer range shots. If you were going to be at 20+ yds often, though, I would buy a big cat or Benjamin trail np and a Leapers scope. If you do go with a scoped ag, just make sure u get a good one piece scope mount
