How does a Convicted Felon start over? What type of job should convicts search for to raise kids, home, etc?

Is the Convicted felon NEVER supposed to have anything? Is the convicted felon supposed to work the lowest paying jobs? How is the person supposed to care for themselves, kids, family, and be productive in society? Do we really want the convicts to do better?

The felon has already proven that s/he is willing to break laws. Why should we allow him/her to work in positions of trust? "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" and all that. If I know that someone has embezzled money, I'm not going to hire him/her as a cashier or bookkeeper or any other position... More

Some go the self-employment route. Some work for wages, and start at the bottom and work up. Some feel that society owes them something and never get over that and tend to live on welfare or go back to prison.
