Who should I ask for a letter of recommendation?

I am applying to volunteer at a local hospital, and the application asks for a letter of recommendation. Who should I ask? What are they looking for in it? Should I ask a teacher (I'm in highschool) or a leader at church? How exactly do I ask them for it? This is my first time getting a recommendation letter, and I don't exactly know how to go about it. My first thought of who to ask is an old youth group leader, but she is the person who told us about the volunteer thing in the first place,and... I dunno. It feels like it would be awkward to ask her. Help?

This is always a tricky topic. I am applying to graduate school soon and I am going to need a letter of recommendation also. For volunteer work at a hospital your probably going to be dealing with patients. I would ask a church leader or a respectful person that knows you are good with people.

it all depends on what these different people think of you, if good..then maybe you should ask one of your closest teachers, one that you make good grades in, and one where the teacher likes you. or you could ask your youth leader, im sure it wouldnt be awkward. hope this helped. rate me high please.

If your youth group involves charity work, the leader would be a good reference. Otherwise, a teacher who acts as an advisor for a club you may be a member of would be good... More
