Why are there so many sales positions advertised on job websites?

There are so many of the jobs as well as recruitment clogging up job websites. They seem to offer a basic wage and then plus commision.

Because companies like to spend their labor dollars on positions that directly generate money for them. IE sales. Many sales positions are difficult because it involves cold calling or or selling into industries that are saturated or have down economies. If you are cut out for it, then go for it. Several reasons, one is the burnout rate (turnover) is great in sales positions. Second is that it is hard to know if a person is truly going to be good at sales or not. Because the turnover in these type of positions are very high because if you don't reach your target each month they get rid of you and employ someone else. The jobs are the same as those people in the shopping centres that want you to sign up for cheaper Electric or save a dog or get credit cards. i have done them and... More
