Why is everyone against the welfare system if it makes people work or go to school to be eligible?

Doesn't it stimulate people to work instead? I dont get how it makes people lazy?

thats the thing, it doesn't..people are given money to 'search' for a job, or to pop out a few kids irresponsibly , as they dont have the money or resources to support them.

Most people don't understand welfare since welfare reform. It's now a jobs program, with time-limited benefits while people receive education and training to become employed.
