What careers would suit someone wanting to help abused neglected and foster children?

The two main things are children and helping people. Ive realised after recently completing my children services course that something was missing... Ive learned about the children part now Ive got to figure out how to combine the two. Fostering is one option, although not a paid job, Im sure its very rewarding... What other things could I do to hands on, help the kids who are being neglected and abused and need people to protect and care for them?

Actually being a foster parent or surrogate parent you get checks from the government. You might want to consider counseling. You help kids and adults.
