How do you get a job at a job centre?

It occurs to me that this will be the one growth industry in the UK over the next few years and I want to get in while the bonanza lasts. Perhaps I should turn "entrepreneur" and offer to open up private job centres (with no jobs available, naturally).

sensible employers do not try to find workers at the job centres because they are full of layabouts. the real workers will be found at employment agencies where they will be actively seeking work.

You could try applying at the Jobcentre. They will tell you if there are any vacancies. Do not be too hopeful however, as they are part of the Civil Service, which is also subject to drastic cuts in staff.

I think those in the Job Centers should get a proper job, so you might do better wearing a sandwich and broadcasting your skills by flirting in the vicinity of management relative to your chosen career, than dealing with them and getting out there and doing, or being seen to be doing would suffice.

The last government closed several of them while the unemployment rate was going up and this present government is going to do even worse. I know a couple of people who work in the local one and I honestly feel for them. They don't half catch a... More
