is it possible that you dont get a job after spending 8 yrs in medical school?

you spend 4 yrs in college and 4 yrs in medical school and you take out bunch of loans. And right after that you don't get a job. Can this happen to those students?

No, after Med School you go to residency. You get paid, but you are not a practicing physician yet. In order to be board certified and even licensed (in most states), you MUST complete a residency program... More

I read quite a bit on careers in demand. I've heard of lawyers not getting jobs. Never of doctors. Guess if worse comes to worse, you could always work for the government or join the military as a doctor and get deployed with pay.

I've never heard of that. Doctors will always have jobs because a) people are always getting sick and there's never enough MDs to take care of them; and b) HMOs are always cr*p to work for so they have trouble filling positions... More

Yes it can happen especially if the student did not do well in school or is limited in where they will consider work. But this is true of any profession... More

Unlikely, they may have to move out of their area to find a job but there are places willing to take them. They are more likely to be hit with crippling debt and have to work till they are 80 years old before they pay off their loans.
