what is a "Solicitor" ..and why this term for what is called a "Lawyer" in Britain?
why called a Solicitor..as this is referred to as as "Advertising" in the USA..what is difference and for how long named this? why not use "Law" and "Lawyer"..like the USA? since when and why?

Good question; I could never understand the choice of words from the British. I once heard of a student who was asking for a rubber in a British school, people started laughing. Rubber in the United Kingdom meant condom. But in the states rubber meant an eraser
