Who should I contact to follow up after a job interview?
I had an interview for an internal job posting which would be a week on Monday. The hiring manager asked for references (my current manager & two other managers in my current department) & stated they had a few more interviews to complete. I wanted to follow up on the position Monday afternoon but was not clear who I should contact. Should I call the HR recruiter or the actual hiring manager?

I'd suggest that you follow up with the "hiring manager" since this is the last person you had contact with.

You should ask to speak with the person who interviewed you to follow up.
