What would a intellectual property attorney expect to make right out of law school?

Assuming they graduated from one of the top 5 intellectual property law schools in the US, what would an IP attorney expect to make annually during their first year out of law school?

First, there is really no such thing as a "top 5 intellectual property law school." In reality, a school rated in the top 5 may only offer a few intellectual property classes. If they went into private practice immediately, they *might* make enough to pay the rent on their office. If they joined a law firm, as a junior attorney, maybe $30,000 - $35,000. - Stuart

If they think there IS a correct answer to this question, they can expect to FAIL the LSAT. In addition, they can expect NOT to practice ANY specialty during their first year out of law school. They are likely to not even pass the BAR within a year of graduation... More
