Which would be a better field to study Biomedical Engineering or Medicine?

I am trying to figure out which I should study but I am looking at factors such as: which pays more which allows me to travel more. (allows me to work in other countries) which would have more job opportunities in the future. which is the most time consuming. If I were to study medecine I would probably study to be General Practitioner or Internalogist. If I were to study biomedical engineering I would want to be a Genetic Engineer. If anyone has experience in these fields I would love their input.

I think medicine would be a more fun field :] you want to be happy with what your doing, theres more variety there. i mean becoming an internologist would probly have a lot of benefits too as far as insurance goes, When u work for a hospital they tend to take care of you..some more so than others.
