Is it OK to be told to shut up by the head chef at work?

He told me this the other day so I told him to "have some f*****g respect" and my boss said I was in the wrong because he is a head of department and can treat lesser staff the way he likes. I also received a disciplinary. Thanks.

This sounds like a really bad place to work...if the person over him said that. On your end...don't use foul language or talk back. You should keep your job for now, but start looking for another.
