Can you please C/C poem: Last Day in Bezerkeley?

QUESTION: Could you please comment & critique this poem/freeform writing??? NOTE the above is a question. Last Day in Bezerkeley Berkeley was as you might expect strange Hippies walking around drug-induced deranged Somewhat of a culture shock Symbol of town and university is Campanili with a huge clock What might have been – an imaginary place Is preserved in a museum in a special place The vision of Phoebe Appisan Hearst Make Berkeley into the “Athens of the West” Model shows classic buildings built classical Greek A vision of higher learning is what they seek Then the Depression hit And aside from a few buildings the model just sit The strategic decision that I made Was not to join in the drug parade Got my own pad from day one Got to call my destiny my own Went to a military school At Cal not considered cool But I never considered the Armed Forces for me A chemist I wanted to be Volunteered to play “Taps” at South San Francisco Cemetery For inactive vets – families so grateful - that was my pay Also played my trumpet at the bookstore sunken plaza On the all Sunday day jam Highly disciplined I was Goals I had – that is the because Ran 3 miles every morning on spongy track On top of parking structure Admitted to Honors program in chemistry Placed out of US History Got into research project Shining lasers into solutions Honors students had lunch with Nobel Laureate Ahmed Zewail When he came to lecture How cool was that? I am grateful to my good friend ‘Harpo’ Mentored me – came from same high school Not religious me – but promised my dad To say Kaddish for him once a year Harpo would invite me to his house And with his family we would go to the synagogue I would stay overnight Thanks for your care and love Had it seemed a parade of women Alision, Jodi, Linda, Keiko, Elyse None really sticked – none would become my wife So I still must search for someone with whom I can spend my life Today is the last day I am all packed up Took one last walk around this town Strolled done Telegraph Hippy sleeping on sidewalk in puddle of urine Walked the Hills Golden Gate delight Awesome view Will miss the shining City of SF on the hill I’ll miss Moe’s books and the music scene But the filth of this town – it ain’t clean Shambala meditation hall I will miss, had the 8-fold way call Time to move on Got job in Ohio I-80 straight shot, directions clear Knocked on manager’s door Yep, been here for years of four But here is the key Started the car – began the journey Regrets – not me (c) Soc 2011 Zoo Forever Productions

I don't know too much about poetry, so I can't really critique it, but I did like it very much
