Converting 2x4 to 4x4 questions?

Alright i need to know a few thing im wanting to convert my 2x4 into a 4x4 i have a 82 chevy siilverado 10.Because i want to throw a lift on it 6 inches high. Now i know this is alot of work but i guess i like work. Now im understanding that i cant really lift a 2x4 because of dimensional rasios. Not being good and of course the frame is different(chassis) its weaker. And no i dont want to buy a 4x4 frame i dont have money for that. And i think there will be more labor then money anyway converting it more or less.Things im going to have to do is axle/spring placement, setting up the steering, aligning and supporting the transfer case, swap transmissions, have driveshafts made, install the transfer case and im also going to have to make the chassis stronger....And on top of all that im going to lift the sucker. So im going to have to get a front and bigger rear end.And lockers on the rear(possibly)Im also going to throw some 35 inch rough country's.So this is alot of work but it has to get done.Give me any advice and dont say its going to be expensive cause only a smart person would know it is reasonable thanks.

If you don't think all that isn't going to be expensive your dreaming.Call around and find out just what the tranny and transfer case are going to cost you.You could go buy an 82 Chevy 4x4 for much less than your conversion will cost. You don't have the money for a frame but you have money for all the other parts?Hmmmmm...
