How do you find rental listings for remote areas?

Since Craigslist doesn't cover towns as small as the areas I am searching and sometimes there doesn't even seem to be a local paper..I am searching from out of town for a place to stay while on contract jobs..

Craigslist is still your best bet - look at the listings for the nearest city or section of the state. Otherwise run an ad in the local papers (yes, there is one for almost all areas) or pennysaver-type papers. you need to find the website of the location you plan to be working and see if there are rental agencies that handle out of town properties or their local newspapers it is also very possible the only way you will find one is to drive there and go up and down the roads to find places for rent

Local Real Estate Offices. Small rural towns do have those since properties are in high demand. You can't beat low home prices, great schools, no crime.
