Whats are the steps to getting your story published?

Obviously first off its to write and finish the story, but whats next?

1) Revise. Then revise again. Set the manuscript (or MS) aside for a week or even a month. Begin writing your next book. Then come back to the first book and read through it, looking for plot holes, excessive adjectives, or characters who have mysteriously disappeared.Is the plot tight? Is the dialog believable? Publishing consists of filling out a specific form that is about having permision and things like money and then you send a copy (manscript) of the book. It may take months but an editor checks it out and sees if it worth selling or publishing. They contact you and talk out more arrangments
