If insurance companies only hire agents with experience, how does a newly licensed agent get a job?
I just get my Florida 220 license. All of the job postings ask for 2 years experience. How do new agents get a job if companies only hire agents with 2 years experience.

Most insurance companies would hire anyone that can spell their own name. If you put your resume on Monster, you will undoubtedly be contacted by AFLAC, Banker's and either Met, New York Life, or some other major carrier. 2 Years Experience is NEVER mandatory - apply to the jobs, and you will be hired or not based on your interview. However, also know, that interviews are few and far between, so, send 100 resumes, and be glad if you get 2 interviews... More

Most employees actually ARE new agents - they get hired, take the test, attempt to do the job, and wash out. Fewer than 5% stay in the business more than two years - which means the ads you're looking at, are serious, for serious employees... More
