is THE VOICE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,especially in cold calling,the voice tones sell cds,like pavarroti,d j services,radio talk show hosts,opera,folk,rock,etc,,,,,,,telemarketing outfits have a super high turnover,owing,in my unproven opinion,that companies look at hires & fires by hundreds per year
as a cost of doing business,instead of a liability(=something that needs explanation,then solving).
80 ?f phone sales revs come from 20 ?f the workforce,,,the converse allies as well,,,80 ?f employees make a couple or a few sales,most drift off,,,,,,,leaving a couple renewals for another rep to 'bump up',or re sell @ a more expensive option.
the mechanisms taught by trainers,personnel guys,or top salesdudes are.the presentation,problem,solution,reinforcement,ask for the sale,,closeim,,,get dialing and snag another.

a book by the ex ceo of ge,look on the net for 'sales/persuasion',see what shows up.
trainers in phone sales do to hard headed businessmen what chickenhawk did to foghorn leghorn,talkin over,gettim to shutup & buy,or makim hang up,,,,,,the voice is what does this,the presentation is secondary,maybe tertiary.
kiddies have super developed hearing from the second trimester of pregnancy,,he/she is primed by hearing mama & dadas voice,,,,the 5 year old kid who .no matter what he's doing,usually 'freezes,
