How do i password protect my wifi at home?

My Boss just got a new wifi router at home so we can have wireless internet, he has given me the amazing job of finding out how to lock it! im not 100% how to lock the router so that others cannot get into it! how do i go about doing this for him?? thanks

It really depends what kind of router it is (brand wise) I will be giving instructions with a netgear router. I have not owned any other kind of router. But these instructions should work for most of them. I have a NetGear N300. Anyway here are the instructions... More

Look in the book for instructions on how to log into the router. Usually open a web browser and type in the address of the router. It will be something like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. alright look at the bottom of the router hopefully it should have its ip address and login info if it does hook the router up as instructed and type in the ip address in your internet browser and type in the login info when asked to do so. if you do not have the log in info the user name is generally admin and the... The router will have an IP address that you enter into the browser, which gets you to its set up menus. The address varies with the router type, this may be with the documentation you got with it, or ask on this forum with the router details.
