How exactly does full commission work?

I might be getting a job that is payed on full commission.So if I do not sell anything my first week do I not make any money? I asked my interviewer a little about it but don't quite understand. I believe there is some type of base pay. The job is at Clarks shoes.

Commissions are handled differently at every business. Full commission generally means that you are paid a percentage of the sale, adn there is no base. full commission? probably means if you don't sell anything there is no pay if there was a base pay it would be stated as such and additional commission but the term full commission indicates that's it

I leased apartments in Chicago for awhile and it was full commission. What that means is that you do not get paid unless you sell a product, in my case rent a property.
