Is it weird to call a store and ask the manager straight up if there are any positions open?
I'm asking because I want to work at Home Depot, but the website doesn't show jobs that are available, it just lists all possible jobs for that store. I guess what you're supposed to do is just apply for them and then keep your fingers crossed that they really need that job. It's frustrating! Anyway, back to my question... Do you think it's weird, or tactless, just to ask the manager if there are any open positions?

well this is a simple one, the fact is that 40% of jobs are not advertised. Its a great idea to give them a ring, but even better still why not take a copy of ur resume to the store (make sure u look like you were going for a job interview dress wise)and ask for the manager and hand your resume Straight into their hands... Mosst people don't even advertise jobs because teens are always emailing or calling stores so why waste the money on advertisement? Call him up it's perfectly normal.
