Any economist will tell you that a recession is not the time to raise taxes, but if you insist on balancing the budget, it will have much less deleterious effect than cutting spending. How is putting government workers and contractors on unemployment going to create jobs?

The way you put it it sounds as if he's raising everybody's taxes. I doubt most of the people getting taxed will even feel it. And we've got to do everything we can to pay off our debt to save this country. Do you want higher taxes or cuts to your social security and medicare because that's what's at stake.

Because it is the agenda of the current criminals in charge to destroy American economy and make us like Greece etc. The real criminals are the private Fed Reserve bank, IMF bank, large corporations running the government.

Lower Expectations for a Deficit Deal? President Obama is holding firm on his $4 trillion plan that includes tax increases and changes in Medicare and Medicaid as congressional leaders head back to the White House today for more debt-reduction talks.

The portion of the Bush tax give aways to the upper 2% were thought to stimulate economic growth. They haven't. Seems rational, logical, prudent, and good economic sense to now remove those failed policies. Why do Republicans want to continue failed policies, and add almost $1 trillion to the federal deficit?
Answered By: ndmagicman - 7/11/2011
Because Republicans don't care about people, they care about dollar signs.
