Can Graphic Designers have multiple jobs?

I am thinking of becoming a graphic designer, but can they have multiple jobs? For example, can they work for a magazine company to design page layouts? Or can they do web design? Can they design animated characters? Do they have to stick to one job only and work for a certain company for the rest of your working life? Or can they go from place to place. Is a bachelor's degree necessary? How much is their salary? I would really appreciate your help! Also, what classes should i take when attending University?

companies don't have to hire you. of course you can have multiple jobs, as long as you're equipped with the skills to do them. most of the time a bachelor's degree is necessary...not sure how much the salary is though.
