How affordable is Los Angeles for a college graduate?

I'm graduating college in several months, and I'm looking into cities to move to after graduation. I'm from the Midwest, and Los Angeles seems huge and diverse, which I would love. I'm considering West Hollywood as a living spot maybe. But in general, how affordable is living there for the college grad? And are apartments all ranging from $1000 and up each month? That's what I keep coming across. Thanks!

LA isn't really affordable for college grads unless you have a high paying job. Unfortunately, our job situation is very bad here, and it is supposed to stay flat. Compared to mos areas of the midwest (exception being downtown Chicago), Los Angeles is very expensive. A moderate one bedroom apartment would be at least $1200-$1800 depending on area. Remember things like auto and health insurance are also more than you are use to.

Not at all. If u want to live in an area that's decent it will cost u. Unless u can get roomates to share the cost. A lot of the collage students do that. Good luck
