Who will provide leadership on raising the minimum wage?

Without Ted Kennedy, much of the living wages will undoubtably be ignored. Kennedy was a champion of quality jobs and making sure people got paid their fair share. Obama was a big supporter of it in his campaign and I trust he is working on raising it. Gas prices are way to high and cause the costs of goods to go up too. It just simple economics.

We just need to elect more Democrats into office. The Republicans are talking about lowering the minimum wage. The poor conned-servatives don't understand that it will cause their wages to go down too.

"Simple economics" also says that more regulations will push up the gas prices, so you're outa luck there, I'm afraid. Are you seriously proposing a HIGHER minimum wage? Are you on the dope again, COLLEGE STUDENT?

I'd rather find someone who will provide the leadership on eliminating the minimum wage law. Indeed, I'd find it especially fascinating to see the expression on the faces of all the liberals in the country if the US Supreme Court were to declare that all minimum wage laws are unconstitutional. It has happened before... More

Ted had special provisions so that female college students can just die without pay and nobody will even care. It is a liberal tradition.

How about you show us what part of the Consitutiton of the United States allows the federal government to set any kind of wage, minimum or "living", for anyone except government employees. Can't do it, can you? There is no such authority so no "leadership" would push for any such legislation.

Neither side has any intention of ever raising the minimum wage. Periods of high unemployment provide a perfect environment in which to LOWER real wages....and oddly enough, the wages never seem to come back up again when the economic situation improves.

No, it's naive economics you are supporting. Not that you're a college student, but the reason why youth unemployment is so low is because of these pushes for misguided living wages keep inexperienced kids out of the job positions. Companies want more seasoned, experienced workers so they get more bang for the buck... More

Do you ever notice that prices increase whenever there is an increase in the minimum wage? It happens every time.
