Isn't a military recruiter, just another con man?

If a young man walks into the recruiter's office and says he wants to serve his country, what do you think the recruiter will use, to motivate the young sucker into going off to war? I think a recruiter is just like a psychic, who listens to what you say and then uses that to parlay into a believable tale about your life She gets the money, you get hope and the con is consummated, with no client, the wiser! Unfortunately, many of these young people get over to Afghanistan or Iraq and they see poppy fields and oil fields and they feel swindled by a con man In all fairness, some never figure it out and they never wake up to reality They die, thinking that they were serving their country, not big oil or the drug lords in government So, is the military recruiter, just another used car salesman?

Recruiters have a difficult job. Their job is to ensure that the military is manned by qualified men and women every day. If they fail at their job of getting qualified men and women to join willingly Congress will reinstate the draft to make up for the shortfalls. Be glad recruiters are good at what they do, it... More

They are a sales person, not a con man. They are obligated by law to tell you the truth, unless something is classified. So they are a sales person

I don't really see it that way. They don't always say it straightforward, but my husband and I absolutely love the military life. My husband knew what questions to ask though. My husband is a no bullshit type of person. People seem to sense that about him. He knows when he is being lied to. Not all recruiters candy... More
