Computer science or computer engineering major?

im trying to decide between computer science and computer engineering. i would like a job in computers but not sure which one is the right one for me. most will say the difference is computer engineering is hardware and computer science is software but if so why is computer engineering both EE + CS if its harware (EE) . tell me what both would do in terms of careers, give me example please. tell me which would pay more and why, not that im going to pick it cuz of the pay but just a quistion. thank u

I was confused by this as well when I was choosing in between EE, CS, and CE(aka CSE, ECE). As i have taken classes in CE I have come to understand that when they say it focuses on hardware yes it does mean designing actual computing hardware BUT it also means designing software for tangible, or physical systems..."...
