Why are Businesses fleeing from Progressive States and moving to Conservative States?

I find it mind boggling that businesses are leaving high taxed Progressive States and fleeing to tax friendly Conservative States. Why is this happening? Below are two articles about companies leaving CA and IL. http://money.cnn.com/2011/06/28/news/economy/California_companies/index.htm?iid=Lead#disqus_thread http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/breaking/chi-cme-group-says-tax-situation-is-untenable-may-exit-state-20110728,0,6322503.story Unemployment in TX - 8.2% Unemployment in NY 8.0, do you know why? Because TX has more people and employs more. You are comparing Apples to Oranges. You can't compare both States unless they have the same exact number of people.

Hmm, because Progressive states think they should overtax them, take all of their money, and kill job creation. I wonder why Texas is doing so good under Perry. If we don't lower their taxes, they'll all leave and go to China next.
