How do I ask my karate instructor for a job?

My friend Ellen who is my age got given a job last year helping my karate instructor coach little ones. My question is this; how can I ask for the same job at a different dojo? I don't want to sound needy and I MUST be polite/respectful... Help!

I am confused? Do you have more than one dojo? Because unless that is the case he probably isnt going to help you. Why should he help you go work for some random dojo that is not connected to him. The only other dojo I think he would send you to is maybe his sensei's. The next question are you the same rank as Ellen... More

I agree with the others here. Approach the instructor respectfully, and simply ask if (s)he needs assistance. Once you have asked, and had that conversation, just drop it. Instructor(s) will then know your interest, and they will keep it in mind... More
