is $29,120 considered a good salary for someone with a bachelors degree and 10 years experience in IT.?

i make a little less than 30 k (before taxes) my take home is probably closer to 22k. i am single and have no kids so money isnt that tight, but i have a bachelors degree in computer science and have been working in the IT industry for almost a decade. am i getting paid a fair wage in this economy considering my job is actually pretty stressful when im not on yahoo answers? oh to further put my situation into context, i own a home and pay 1400 a month for it, and live in houston so the cost of living is lower than say cali or new york.

No, that sounds crappy to me. I know someone who had no degree at all and ran a store for a major U.S. company with a salary for 40 hours who made like $35,000 with 10 years experience. And that was in 1993! I doubt her being in the Northeast makes much difference over your situation.

I was making that salary when I was a young graphic designer with only one year experience. That salary sucks with your experience and training.
