How to disappear completely? a song by Radiohead. Currently I have quite a bit of savings in the bank, but no job and nowhere to live. What's a good place to go to (I'm in the UK), where I will have a good chance of finding a job and somewhere reasonably cheap to live? I did try London, but accommodation was just too expensive, and besides, London is dirty (I'm not a clean freak. I'm a clean enthusiast). I don't have a car, so anywhere I'm going needs to be somewhere I can get to while dragging all my stuff with me, lol. Any suggestions? Anyone? Ideas? Thoughts? Insults? PS Don't worry, I didn't muder anyone or anything. I just fancy a clean slate. @Teatime Writer, yeah, but whichever part of London you live in, you still have to use the buses and the tube...which are dirty! I love London, just don't think I can live there. And when I say I want to disappear completely, I don't mean it literally, sorry for being ambiguous, I just wanted to use the radiohead title.

I suggest maybe Edinburgh, Truro (although jobs are scarce in Cornwall), York, Winchester or Exeter. I used to live in Cambridge and it's very nice, although there's not much to do and it's flooded with tourists at the moment. I don't know what career you have chosen but why not look for posts all over the country and... More

Shetland is a clean place thats average in terms of cost of living, apart from fuel (which obviously doesnt affect u). The recession hasn't hit as hard there either as the council is quite wealthy due to oil revenues so its quite easy to find work.
