Is it hard to get a job at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf or Starbucks with no job experience?

I'm talking about California. I'm going to be living in CA next year and I'm planning on getting a job. I have a US passport... I'm not a CA resident though...Will I also need to be a CA resident to be eligible for work?

With the recession jobs of any type are very hard to come by. Working at a Coffee Shop is not going to earn you enough money to live on here even if you are going to college, and living with your aunt. DON'T try using her address to claim resident tuition. You mention passport, are you not a citizen? If not, than the first thing is, are you allowed to work here? Do you have a work visa? If not, you can't work here, employers check.
