What's the general "routine" for getting into Medical School? (Read details please :))?

FOR tl;dr version skip to bottom. Okay I am only in 7th Grade but I have my sights set on practicing family medicine. I know you take a lot of AP classes in the Sciences and Maths, but beyond that I'm confused. My aunt is in family medicine and she said I should try volunteering at local doctors offices. So. -Volunteer -AP Classes in Sciences and Maths. I heard you don't need any special courses taken in college but should I take pre-med just in case? What should I do in college to heighten my chances of getting into medical school? (If it helps my dream schools are PennState (Out of my reach) Central Maine Medical Center, or any of the medical centers in Maine. Then you have to residency, no big right? I just also want to know how the 'Match day' I heard was on March 15th, but how to I get into the residency? I heard there was an online form you have to fill out. So basic questions are: What courses do I have to take in high school/college? Do I need pre-med? How should I heighten my chance of getting into medical school? How does residency work or how do I get into residency?

You really want to spend (i actually mean waste) another 10 years of school after high school when you could be enjoying life? And do you really know how hard it is just to get into medical school?
