Why did the Bears hire Mike Martz as their offensive coordinator?
I thought it was to improve the offense but with offseason acquisitions like Roy Williams, Sam Hurd, and Marion Barber...Im not too sure. Now Knox wants out of there. I really dont blame him.

I think the terrible off season moves that the Bears are exhibiting, is a separate issue. I don't really think that is a reflection on Mike Martz, because generally off season acquisitions are conducted by the GM or the head coach. Martz is only responsible for putting together the offensive game plan for each game... More

The Bears hired Martz because they have an elite QB behind center and needed to hire a coordinator who could use him the way he needed to be used.
