I'm moving to a different state and need advice on whether I should transport my car or just buy a new one?
I was offered a job with Border Patrol in Southern California but right now I live in Tampa, FL. I drive a Hyundai Accent with about 95,000 miles on it and I want to know if it's even worth it spending money to transport it or should I just buy a new car. The third option would be me driving from FL to CA. Which is the best option?

Drive the car to California. You are going to have stuff you don't want to ship that you can load into the car like your computer. My son just drove from California to Tampa. Go to the AAA site and get your directions-you can send them to your phone or print them out and check out www.tripadvisor.com for places to stay... More

Weigh you options on cost. Auto shipping will run you about $1100 and take 7-10 days. Driving will cost you gas, food, hotel and your time. If you need to ship it, call Post Oak. http://www.postoakautotransport.com/

Don't get a new car unless it's really old. I would suggest shipping it as long as you have a way of retrieving it when it arrives. It might be cheaper that way, and you might be able to store some stuff in it... More
